M J Lawrie is an accomplished dark fantasy author from the east of England, whose love of monsters, anti-heroes, lovable villains and fierce female main characters pushed her to start writing stories of her own.

With a BA in film from Farnham University for the Creative Arts, M J Lawrie has always had a passion for storytelling. Her success as an author is evidenced by her numerous Amazon bestsellers across multiple categories.
Beyond writing, M J Lawrie is an amateur historian who has spent over a decade studying folklore. Her extensive travels around the UK have taken her to many of the places featured in her novels, allowing her to bring a rich sense of history and place to her stories.
When she's not writing or researching, M J Lawrie enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons. They share a love of movies and books. In her free time, M J Lawrie enjoys subjecting her husband to horror films and TV shows for a laugh, dragging him around haunted castles, and staring at the sea for hours.
